Bespoke Accessibility Solutions

When Off-the-Shelf Equipment doesn't fit

Every person with special needs has unique physical requirements, therapeutic goals, and daily challenges.  Off-the-shelf accessibility equipment often fails to address these individual differences, forcing families to compromise on fit, function, or comfort.

At RBK Consulting, we don’t believe in compromise.  We design and manufacture custom accessibility equipment in our South African workshop, creating solutions that work perfectly for your child’s or family member’s specific needs.

Our custom equipment is born from personal experience.  We’ve searched for equipment for our daughter Rose and know firsthand the frustration of ill-fitting products.  This drives us to create better solutions for South African families.

Standing Frames Designed for Your Child's Exact Needs
Standing frames are critical therapeutic equipment for children with celebral palsy and other mobility challenges, but finding the right fit is difficult. Children grow, change, and have unique postural needs that generic standing frames can't accomodate.

From Consultation to Delivery: How we Create Your custom Equipment

Step 1
In-Depth Consultation
We discuss your family member's specific needs, challenges, and goals, review any existing equipment that's not working, and understand your budget and timeline.
Step 2
Assessment & Measurements
We conduct detailed physical measurements and postural assessments, document specific positioning requirements, photograph current equipment or positioning, and gather input from caregivers about daily use challenges.
Step 3
Design Development
We create initial design concepts with sketches and specifications, select appropriate materials for durability and comfort, incorporate safety features and adjustment mechanisms, and present design options with cost estimates.
Step 4
Approval & Refinement
You review designs and provide feedback, we make adjustments based on your input, create detailed technical drawings, and finalize materials, padding, and finishes.
Step 5
Manufacturing
Our workshop builds your custom equipment with quality materials, precision craftmanship, and attention to detail, following safety standards and therapeutic specifications, with regular quality checks throughout the build.
Step 6
Fitting & Adjustments
We deliver the completed equipment, conduct initial fitting and positioning, make any necessary adjustments for optimal fit, and train you and caregivers on proper use and care.

We remain available for questions, adjustments and modifications as needs change, and provide ongoing support and consultation.
